I need opinions, people!

I want to send the mom-in-law something for Mother's Day. Mike and I are both avid procrastinators, and we always forget to send a card and sometimes even forget to CALL. So... I was going to order something on 1-800-flowers.com.

Those of you who know me (who most of you will not respond in time for me to order the flowers today), you know I don't care for flowers. I think cut flowers are a waste of money. They just end up dying in a week, sometimes less. With that in mind, I was thinking of getting a potted plant.

Gardenia

1-800-flowers.com has this Gardenia in a Green Planter available (and for another $7.99 I can add on the Yankee Candle seen next to the plant). What do you guys think? I want to order by the end of the work day.

I think a potted flower plant as opposed to cut flowers are a great idea! To be realistic for a minute, even if the m-i-l does have a black thumb and the flowers *do* start to die, she can at least snip the blossoms off and hang them up to dry.

THe important thing is to send something. That's what I learned. It doesn't matter what. In fact I am ordering right now.

i'm too late on this. but it is lovely, i hope you sent it. i know that i would appreciate such a thing. gardenias are my favorite flower, they smell so heavenly

one guy I know online said:

"Do you love your mom?"

it's for the mom-in-law.

.... what a pig. I don't like cut flowers, they die too fast.

kinda late...but i think thats a nice choice too...as you said cut flowers die. at least a potted plant has some chance, even with us black thumbed people!! lol!! at least you thought of something for your mother-in-law...i think i'ma gonna print and frame a picture for our my mother-in-law! lol!!
