Mike told me this last night. I'm not really good at re-telling stories, so it's going to be short and simple.
My co-worker was chatting with a girl on the mainland (Continental USA). It came to a point where she asked him, 'So, where do live?'
He said, 'Oh, I live in Hawai'i.'
The girl stopped chatting with him for a long while. He finally wrote back and said, 'Did I do or say something wrong?'
She wrote back and said, 'You know, I'm not going to talk to you if you're going to lie to me.'
My co-worker said, 'Lie? What did I lie about?'
She responded, 'You said you live in Hawaii. They don't have internet over there.'
That's when HE stopped talking to HER.
What's the biggest mistake you've ever made at a job?
I pretended to care what the clique-bitches talked about, trying to "fit in" because if not, they would cast me out and make work miserable.
Hah! Work was miserable no matter what... AND I still got fucked in the end, when my annual evaluation was given by the clique-bitch Office Manager and Termite Manager (who was obviously IN LOVE with Office Manager, but they are both married to different people). They didn't give me a raise that was worth what I knew I was worth, bringing me down because I apparently am "unapproachable." Why was I unapproachable? Because I wanted to do MY WORK BY MYSELF. When someone asked me if I needed help, I told them NO. Why? Because they would just fuck up everything and I would have to re-do it anyway. I also was denied a proper raise because I showed up to work 4 minutes and 7 minutes late within the past month. Never mind that I spent extra time AFTER OFFICE HOURS to finish my work. Give me a fucking break, bitches. ugh.
Here's a few of their songs.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was genetically enhanced by aliens when they abducted his mother while she was pregnant with him. True story.
What do you most hate sharing with other people?
Oxygen. Those greedy bastards keep taking all of it... so much is gone, there's not enough for me!
Damn you all who have off today. I get to sit at work, while all of you who get off on state holidays get to sleep in or go to the movies or go shopping or go to the beach or whatever it is you do on Prince Kūhiō Day.
Hey! Look! Wikipedia has Prince Kūhiō Day. Neat.
I loathe:
- Rude/Inconsiderate people. This goes out to Maile.
- The sun. I burn easily, it's really hot, and it's too bright for my eyes. The sun is okay when there are clouds between it and me.
- Junk Mail. Why can't it all be filtered out of my Inbox yet? I still come across a few that slip through the filters... you would think filters have improved enough that this wouldn't still be happening?
- Long waits to be seated at a restaurant. There's several empty tables, but they just can't seat you fast enough. Why? C'mon... some of us have to get back to work!
- Hotter and hotter weather. Spring is here, summer is around the corner, and my AC is still broken. I didn't get a quote on how much it would cost to get the AC repaired, because it'll probably cost $1,000. That, and just to get it checked will cost at least $80.
- Not being able to sleep in on the weekend. Saturday night was our Rock Band Party (rockin' 'til 4:30AM!), and Sunday I had to play tour guide/translator for a family friend visiting from Japan. I had 5 hours of sleep Friday night and 3 hours of sleep on Saturday night (aka Sunday morning). Monday, I was dead.
I love:
- Having lunch with friends.
- Getting work done during the day.
- Spring Break. I haven't actually HAD a spring break in several years now, but when there is Spring Break, there are very few cars on the road. Less traffic is awesome.
- When bands use my photographs on their websites. After the 2 years of following The Hell Caminos and photographing every show I see, they have FINALLY used two of my photographs (one of which is their current profile pic) on their MySpace page. Kick. Ass.
What one common food item do you refuse to eat?
Bacon.
I don't care for bacon at all. If I can pick it off of my food, I will. If it's too mixed into the food, then I'll eat it (Ruby Tuesday makes this broccoli cheese bacon dish for their Garden Bar that is so very yummy, I can't deny it). I will avoid bacon as much as possible. I just don't understand what's so great about it... it's 90% animal fat, sometimes more. Yuck.
hands feeling soft, numb
slight tingling across your skin
exhalation
hazy, blurred, darkness engulfing
slow-motion world, grinding to a halt
no more pain, no more remorse
